Federation Anthology is a collection of short stories and novellas based in the Federation Earth Universe. The four stories contained within this volume will shed light on various aspects of the world, hightlight certain characters and further explain some of the inner workings and behind the scenes aspects of the story up through Volume 3.
The first story, Before Genesis, takes the reader WAY back in time. It lays the groundwork for some of what will be detailed in the second trilogy, Federation Fleet. It tells an ancient story from a different perspective.
The second story, Galileo Base, details what went on behind the scenes regarding the building of the Federation's first moon base. Some of the writing takes a more humorous tone but the story is a recounting of the troubles and hardships faced in building mankind's first lunar base.
The third story, Agents of the Law, details the investigators and their actions during the investigation of The Project. Various characters are further developed and the reader will gain a better understanding of the motivations of these characters and why things happened as they did.
The fourth and final story, War in Texas, gives a much more detailed accounting of the build-up and explosion in Texas following its secession from the United States. The soldiers captured at the end of Volume 1 are detailed and we learn what part they later played behind the scenes.
I hope you'll put aside any reservations that you may have about picking up a compilation novel and delve into this resource. Besides being entertaining, you will gain a better understanding of the world of Federation Earth.
